Following this conqueror… Part 1

The Christ said "Follow me!" & he lived both

a sinless life, & suffered physic'ly.

So learn from him to live a life of troth,

that's done with sin, his mindset in us frees!

From now on, then, live earthly lives impelled

by God's will, not alternative desires.

For when we follow them Earth is more Hell-ed.

Not one more second's needed. Quench those fires!

The fires of boundless passions for all things,

addictions that afflict our human lives,

for power, prestige, pleasure, comfortings;

that leads to jealousy and then connives.

But there is one who sees the whole bang lot,

both us and them, before whom we'll account

and he's equipped to judge who's live - or not.

Thus the announcement's made to down and outs.

For this announcement of our Lord of Life

(& death - who's shown his leadership through these),

is like the little sperm that gets through strife

and brings a whole new kind of kind dis-ease,

from growing a new life, where such was not

before, but now that this announcement's made

if they for their part take it in, that's got

the pow'r, capacity, of life that's bade

by the creative God, who spoke a word

allowing all who hear, respond, obey,

to work to purpose, and designs they've heard

until they see themselves, in light of day!

Since Christ suffered physically, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had; because whoever suffers physically is no longer necessarily involved with sin. From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God's will and not by human desires. You have spent enough time in the past doing what the heathen like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lust, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols. And now the heathen are surprised when you do not join them in the same wild and reckless living, and so they insult you. But they will have to give an account of themselves to God, who is ready to judge the living and the dead. That is why the Good News was preached also to the dead, to those who had been judged in their physical existence as everyone is judged; it was preached to them so that in their spiritual existence they may live as God lives.
