God please give us your wisdom & your grace
in order to play our small parts down here,
until we see you purely - face to face,
And help our brother Brad to trust, not fear!
And too his brothers, Geoff, & Graeme, & Paul,
It's them as well as Brad that need your love,
to trust as your small children - that's not all -
as wise as serpent, harmless as a dove.
And when we each are overcome ourselves,
to follow he who called us so to do,
who knew both how to live and die in health-
y ways, responding, copying who? You!
I'm thinking of his Mum & John, his mate,
and how he trusted you to help them get
together more, not less, in their weak state.
Oh, God you're often blamed for what we've let
(or helped to bring) upon ourselves that hurts,
or even harms our bodies. Glad your love
like mercy, trumps, or covers over dirt
so we have space to grow, born "from above".
And here we are with COVID in our midst,
we're learning how to monitor, and rest,
and slow our manic tendencies that risk
our pushing others off, when we are blessed
with mourning, then with mocking, loss, not gain,
and let his topsy turvy way to live
as little ones, who trust instead of blame,
& try to be not right, but kind. 2 give!
He said to them, ‘You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.
I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.
Those of you who try to be right (with God by obeying the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ.) You are outside God's grace.
