QUIN

The end of day that celebrates the birth

of Sam the Man, the Spaniel, and the mirth

that he has brought to life for all of us.

We're glad we've had this man for these yea-rs.

The end of the beginning comes about,

we hope if little girl does come along.

This is the year to hear whispers and shouts

more as you see from God's perspective's long-

range love & thoughtfulness to help one grow

not just to be compliant, but to know

another one, and yet to train her so

that she can learn how training regimes go.

We're glad, your Mum & I, of your good heart,

determined to do all you can to serve,

those round about, and yet to learn the part

of husband to a woman, who's go nerve

to marry such a man as she has got.

Keep looking up to who will love to give

you wisdom when you lack it, and know not

the forward way, in choices as you live.

Monday 30May2022CE from Grenfell towards Gooloogong.

Forecast to be raining in both Grenfell and Gooloogong.

Hope to be up, ~6;30am, dress, toilet, shave, cuppa, tap on the door of  Dean (the Manager) at 7am, then pack trolley, and leave by 7:30am.

Either stay tonight at St.Paul's Church, @ Warraderry, 21km, or go till 33km which would cut a day off the time it takes to get to Orange. Might have to see how far I get  and  see how I feel at 21km - walking in the rain. Just that at 33km i'd probably have to tent it, whereas the 21km option is in a dry hall.

Well, I packed up with help of paper  towels and plastic bag etc from Dean, & got out on to the street by 7:25am. No rain yet! But this is the sky I'm heading into:

.

Light rain came on, with a cold wind. Put on my poncho and had jacket around waste  to not grt it wet. My fingers were very cold. I had to sing, and shout, and growl and rum sometimes. In a lul of rain, could put me bluetooth ear piece on repeat, to listened to that song I recorded on my phone a few days ago & sing with it to learn it.

Keith stopped and said G'day. He had unlocked the Church building of the St. Paul's Anglican Warraderry congregation (now defunct, he mentioned,) I only had 5 or 7 km to go. He said the door might just need a shove. I said I'd stay there. I needed somewhere dry to warm up.

Finally, with no breaks, got to it about 2:30 ish.

.

Some issues happened that I don’t want to put on the web, and I went in, swept some of the dust and webs up at the back, unpacked my trolley in the dry, put dry cloths on, laid out sleeping mat and bag. Had 2 cans of beef stew and some choc meusli bars  and snuggled into the sleeping bag to warm my fingers and feet.

Keith popped in at 4 or 6 before he fed the dogs, to see I was ok. He saw the unmentionable and said "That's ok. It had come to that."  And when i asked: "If I were to bring others on a pilgrimage within the Central West in the next year or so, could we do this again?" He was positive.

.

.

.I've heard that the art in stained glass windows started at a time when many couldn't read (like I am reading a story or two each day, on this pilgrimage), so these pictures gave them visial cues for important stories from the roughly 355 little storylets that still exist from the First Century CE on the life of Yeshua "bar Natzaret".

.

This was part of a few texts to family & friends that got out during the arvo & night:

.. I'm at St. PAUL'S Anglican Church Hall, Warraderry (Bathurst Diocese) cold. Hoped it might have a fire place in it. But no. In my sleeping bag to try to  warm up. I passed the 115km to Orange, about 1 km back. ..

Haven't got much recrption here. 1 bar every now and then. ..

..I've got oodles of food, just that my shoes are soaked and freezing.

And i can't go outside in the mud without em on.

I'll have to jog when I put them on.

..C O L D...

..Got into a church they let me sleep in tonight, and got my wer sox and shoes and lokng pants off, and into dry stuff and into my sleeping bag yp try yo warn up. And ear. Well see.putting thoscwet shoes ( so i suppose i may as well use the wet sox too) on in the morning, makes me shiver to think about.... learning to ding with gusto. Will be higging mire tomorrow i think.

I've misplaced or lost my glasses so can't  see up close real well - more a problem for reading & writing texts in my sleeping bag.

Sometimes the wind on the windows sounded like people walking on the boards. (Added to few stories, some made up, some true, I might have given up. Spooked sometimes. Sang loudly to creative love, remembering that's how I got here.

OLD TO NEW WORLD VIEW

Despite that science tells us "This world is

not what it seems on outside, to the feel,

with layers upon layers forming things",

I still believe that our ol' world is real.

Our scientific story tells us that

despite what we all see here (think we "know"),

there's layers of "community" which mat

together, and which interleave.. (quite so):《1

Inside, within each body, making up

the living ones, are individu'l "cells",

or living creatures that can be corrupt-

ed, or combined to make a host where dwells

the multicelled "community" we see

that's planted right before us "on" (or "in")

our ground of being. Even you and me.

And these can be disrupted or can win!

The ways that these communities would seize

things 'round about to aid their tiny parts,

to work together: shelter, feed, and ease

their life, to bring a thriving from their starts,

are called in this Our world "to feed", & "clothe

and shelter", self or fam'ly, other lives.

The old words from Our world that covered both

are "love", & then there's "peace"- which meant "life thrives".

But smaller yet, each body that exists,

of rocks, or gasses, animals or plants;

(and irrespective of "life" tagged to its

existence as an entity, per chance..)

is made of smaller atoms, molecules,

or other things that kind of are like "seas".

But smaller yet (these aren't just words of fools)

are forces "circling", balancing with ease.

Where either particles or waves "impart"

existence to those higher levels too.

But here we haven't even made a start

on bigger things, like Galaxies and U-

ni-verse, or other categ'ries rehearsed,

like Supernova, Nebulae, and Giants,

Dwarves, and other stars that shoot and burst,

to cook up compounds, elements and ions

from which all of the rest can start to "be".

Invisible dimensions in this way

we start to understand, and maybe "see"

within our "mind's eye" - as they used to say.

But still our story makes more sense, or less

of all dimensions we've encountered here,

since we were born - to order and to mess,

with this ol' world. - And this is where I cheer

myself as I move on, and others too.

The world we "started" in, that let us learn

about dimensions and these worlds that you

have just now been reminded of, don't spearn!

The story that's apparent: God made this

whole world with more dimensions than you'd poke

at with a stick, does not seem so remiss

and starts to look less like it was a joke!

"The best is yet to come", as AA found

in fact, through living in this re-al world.

And there's a higher power hanging round

to see if we would reach out and be curled

within the love of biggest Dad, or Mum,

and let the Great Creator's fam-il-y

look after us and grow us, and then some..

towards more of a nature that is free

to love back, as we have ourselves been loved.

And that's why most religions in this world

admire, and think good-life was surely gloved

within the life, that we have mostly hurled

our insults at, and blamed him for our faults

and misdemeanours, laziness, and such.

It's him I would commend to you. Us dolts,

we killed the model human God loved much -

the second Adarm (and would kill his Eve,

that God brings from him while he's "not around").

In jealousy and ignorance, we'd weave

a net to catch them yet, like beasts been found

and named. So if you ask me to I'll tell

the story of the glory of God "THERE",

who loves his kids, and wants them to do well,

take on creative love, and learn to share.

Sunday 29May2022CE

Up around 8am, and found the Laundromat was shut. Managed to negotiate with the owner (the baker at Rosa Bakery) for him to do a very small load for me today and deliver it to the Albion Hotel by tonight.

Breaky there at the bakery!

Curious thing as I'm getting nearer to Orange, where my family is I'm wanting to speed up and make it with a day to spare, before the retreat with friends that I committed to, which starts on Friday next week. Instead of right as our retreat starts… But, then I had to calm myself, look up - (as though to the source of all creative love), and recall that my walking partner is the major partner. I am the minor one. And I need not fret, or contrive… I have dropped the matter (for now) in the hands of creative love. And I am looking forward to seeing what happens, like I was at the very beginning!

The contact from Grenfell whom I was given yesterday said he's leading the combined (Protestant) church service tomorrow, and could he interview me on what's happening on this walk. I felt like I should get something ready. But then I recalled, do what I know I need to be doing, and I'll have to trust creative love to help me out with the details. So it's back into reading and thinking about and trying to respond to that First Century document on the life of (whom I think to be both the best leader & teacher this world has seen) Yeshua BarNatzaret.

Noticed that my tee shirt was inside out at breaky, so on my way to the Church Hall, a fellow looked after my bag, while I quickly stripped my shirt and put it on right-side-out.

.

He turned out to be Henry Lawson himself, somehow stuck in time.

Darryl Knapp gave the talk (WELL) on behalf of the Minister who had COVID. his wife Marion came and talked as did he after, and was friendly too. (forgot to get a photo, sorry)

A great gathering. Good songs. Thoughtful readings. I think the interview went well, at least a number of people told me they appreciated it.

Afterwards Marlene came and talked & got my blogspot:

Chris  also caught up a bit and got my blogspot:

Phillip reached out his hand and said "I'm jealous" & Joan his lady came and joined in too.

.

Gillian, and her 3 kids were keen to talk and had somehow met my daughter from Orange recently…

.

One of her daughters was a model for me to practice my drawing

.

(It looks more like her at 15yrs … - oh well.)

This boy also got a picture outside.

.

David and Norma took me out to a Chinese  lunch

and gave me the doggy bags for dinner (which I had tonight). While we were having lunch she asked if I had heard of George Morrison's story ( she had only stumbled across it recently).

He was Australian, born in the late 1800's. After school, he had walked as a boy from his home in Geelong, to see the cricket in Adelaide, then became a journalist, (and  a doctor) and walked N to S of PNG,  and then not long after Burke & Wills perished, he got dropped off on the North coast of Australia, and walked home to Geelong in (from memory, 133days) etc. Then became an ambassador (or consulate etc) to China, & walked through China to some other country.

I'll have to do some more research myself.

1:30pm - 2:45pm I joined an Open Mike Event at the cordial factory here at Grenfell, had a drink, and practiced drawing maybe 8 people while we listened to live music. Trying to contribute to the festive atmosphere. Bee-uut-iful! And a lot of fun.

I thought I may as well join in with all the Jesus followers I can here in Grenfell, they seemed such an open bunch. So, being the 5th Sunday of the month (I think) there was an ecumenical service that Catholics and other Christian Family Church groups joined in on.

3pm - to an ecumenical Christian church service.

Led by another David.

I thought  the question is not "What we truly believe?" But "Who do we truly believe?" (Recalling Jesus' words: "You believe in God. Believe also in me.")

To believe in a person, is similar  but also quite different to believing in specific concepts.

Believing in a person comes from knowing and trusting, and ultimately in loving a person.

Same sermon, just as good the second time. Then cuppas and cake and catching up etc..  and they shouted me some stuff from Foodbank for the trip in the next few days.

Home to the hotel room, phone calls to family, dinner was the doggy bag from lunch.

An Anglican Church building on the way might be available to doss down my sleeping bag in.

Do the blog, and shower, shave, bandaids etc.. ready to be up at 6:30am

A good, and very rich day.

Let me pray now.

Oh GOD, the God of living ones who've grown

please give your grace to Dave's Dad, to not fear.

Saturday 28May2022CE pm

I found a little lamb out beside the road under a gum tree beside a paddock of ewes with little lambs. Can't see how it got out, untill i walked a few hundred meters further and a gate was high enough on one side for a lamb to bend down and get through.

I've been playing with "communicating" with animals since a friend went to a workshop and is now convinved humans can learn to. I thought if it wanders out on the road, it will swiftly become road kill. So tried different strategies of communicating with it. I thought if i could hold it I could probably let it down over the fence. Almost. But not quite. Forgot to take a pic.

I dropped intovthe next house on the same side. The Davis', thelady said she knew the people who owned the paddock the lamb was probably from, and would ringcthe Shaefers to let them know. Mrs..Davis filled up my water bottle too, with tank water. How good is that.

Trev Ryan stopped, going the other way to me, for a quick chat.He said he'd passed me three times today, and thought he'd better catch up, and see what's going on. Was I doing it for a charity? I said there is that with Movember, but it it's kind of a pilgimage too. A neighbouring farmer in Canowindra took some time off and went to Spain to do the Comino. He came back and said it was teally worth his while. I was intruiged, but thought (though we don't have the history of monasteries etc to stay in cheaply, surely we could do something like that in Australia. I didn't tell Trev then, but that is why every day I have some time to tune in to purpose and reality  and read one of the First Century documents on the life of Jesus.)

Where do I stay? Trev asked.

"Pubs,  Caravan Parks, Backpackers Hostels, tent and sleeping bag, in the trolley, where I can't. (e.g. Temora's Shamrock Hotel, then tenting, then Bribaree's Hotel, then tenting, then tonight at the Albion Hotel in Grenfell  -& booked there for Sunday too.)

.

As I tried to tell him my blogspot, hard verbally, Trev suggested i get on Facebook. It made a big difference to his Rams business. Maybe I'll have to check it out, yet again. Thanks for taking the time to share Trev.

I was just trying to see if I could get to Orange one day earlier, for an appointment. Then it was my turn to give directions. This car pulled up and an old chap driving (with a boy in the passenger's seat, who looked dressed for or from sport) asked if this was the way to Young? I said I've just come from Temora on this road..

I had my phone and Google maps i  my hand, so we looked it up. Yeah, he needed Henry Lawson Way. He did a U-y

.

and went back to the MidWestern Highway, to turn right onto Weddin Street…

Saw the way Google maps took me & Mrs Davis had directed me, but got waylaid by a coffee shop, that lloked shut, but I just saw a man walk into it. I thought I probably have time to have a nice coffee today, before I make my way to the pub. Got to the coffee shop and the owner, who had just walked in, said it shut at 12, noon. Then I was partly up the street, but this street looked steeper than Main Street, that the pub was on. So I may as well go back only one or two house blocks and go up Main Street. I thought, oh well, it shouldn't hurt me to go up a steep hill, and just dug in my heels to go this way. As I got to the last house on the left, I noticed that over the road from it was rhe Uniting Church, so I thought, ah I've found where I'll go tomorrow at 10am. One of the locals, who was a friend of friends had rung me back, and offered me a bed for the night, but I said I was booked into the pub for two nights. So when i said I was interested in meeting with people who are earnest about following  Jesus, since this is a pilgrimage too, he invited me to a combined Anglicsn, Uniting Church, Presbyterian, get together at 10 in a hall owned by one of them. And we were going to have lunch either at their place, or chinese in town, because they had something in town mid afternoon. I said fine. My shout at Chinese. The man, David  said "No. It think it's better if we shout!" Then he told me that the Uniting Church & Presbyterian churches in town have the same minister, and it has worked well for a time, and since it was the 5th Sunday of the month, the Anglicans were joining in too. I said this is pretty amazing. I've heard of say the Anglican and Uniting churches working together, but not the Presbyterians too. Good on 'em, I thought, they might have listened to their scriptures about not breaking into little groups that follow this way or that, this person or that person.

Well, as I got to a street to turn left at, a man was turning his garden hose on or off in the corner house, & i thought maybe i could keep going to the top thete is another street to go left at to get to the pub so I called out to the man outside his house to ssk if that would work. He said "Yes, But this one would be easier." And I thought "Yeah, I don't specially want to go the hard way. So I turned there, then he asked where I was going and had come from etc..

We talked for about an hour they brought out a cup of tea, we found we had mutual friends, and he said he was on his 2nd day of COVID, (his family were all over it), so had to stay in the yard.

.

Met Steve and Julie & their two kids. He also turned out to be the minister of those two churches, that I'd asked my friend & the friend of my friend about on the phone. His printer printed a few leaflets I can give folk about my blog and Movember.

Talk about being steered. Thank you walking partner!

Lovely time with a drink at the pub, looking at Pool, then shower,  phone home, and dinner down stairs! Lovely Chicken Parmi, with mash & vegies. A1, while I watched the footy and some local pool comp. I was welcomed to "the big G", which is… Grenfell!

Have to wash some clothes, if the laundromat is open before 9am, and get a new razor.

Good night.
