Up around 8am, and found the Laundromat was shut. Managed to negotiate with the owner (the baker at Rosa Bakery) for him to do a very small load for me today and deliver it to the Albion Hotel by tonight.
Breaky there at the bakery!
Curious thing as I'm getting nearer to Orange, where my family is I'm wanting to speed up and make it with a day to spare, before the retreat with friends that I committed to, which starts on Friday next week. Instead of right as our retreat starts… But, then I had to calm myself, look up - (as though to the source of all creative love), and recall that my walking partner is the major partner. I am the minor one. And I need not fret, or contrive… I have dropped the matter (for now) in the hands of creative love. And I am looking forward to seeing what happens, like I was at the very beginning!
The contact from Grenfell whom I was given yesterday said he's leading the combined (Protestant) church service tomorrow, and could he interview me on what's happening on this walk. I felt like I should get something ready. But then I recalled, do what I know I need to be doing, and I'll have to trust creative love to help me out with the details. So it's back into reading and thinking about and trying to respond to that First Century document on the life of (whom I think to be both the best leader & teacher this world has seen) Yeshua BarNatzaret.
Noticed that my tee shirt was inside out at breaky, so on my way to the Church Hall, a fellow looked after my bag, while I quickly stripped my shirt and put it on right-side-out.
.
He turned out to be Henry Lawson himself, somehow stuck in time.
Darryl Knapp gave the talk (WELL) on behalf of the Minister who had COVID. his wife Marion came and talked as did he after, and was friendly too. (forgot to get a photo, sorry)
A great gathering. Good songs. Thoughtful readings. I think the interview went well, at least a number of people told me they appreciated it.
Afterwards Marlene came and talked & got my blogspot:
Chris also caught up a bit and got my blogspot:
Phillip reached out his hand and said "I'm jealous" & Joan his lady came and joined in too.
.
Gillian, and her 3 kids were keen to talk and had somehow met my daughter from Orange recently…
.
One of her daughters was a model for me to practice my drawing
.
(It looks more like her at 15yrs … - oh well.)
This boy also got a picture outside.
.
David and Norma took me out to a Chinese lunch
and gave me the doggy bags for dinner (which I had tonight). While we were having lunch she asked if I had heard of George Morrison's story ( she had only stumbled across it recently).
He was Australian, born in the late 1800's. After school, he had walked as a boy from his home in Geelong, to see the cricket in Adelaide, then became a journalist, (and a doctor) and walked N to S of PNG, and then not long after Burke & Wills perished, he got dropped off on the North coast of Australia, and walked home to Geelong in (from memory, 133days) etc. Then became an ambassador (or consulate etc) to China, & walked through China to some other country.
I'll have to do some more research myself.
1:30pm - 2:45pm I joined an Open Mike Event at the cordial factory here at Grenfell, had a drink, and practiced drawing maybe 8 people while we listened to live music. Trying to contribute to the festive atmosphere. Bee-uut-iful! And a lot of fun.
I thought I may as well join in with all the Jesus followers I can here in Grenfell, they seemed such an open bunch. So, being the 5th Sunday of the month (I think) there was an ecumenical service that Catholics and other Christian Family Church groups joined in on.
3pm - to an ecumenical Christian church service.
Led by another David.
I thought the question is not "What we truly believe?" But "Who do we truly believe?" (Recalling Jesus' words: "You believe in God. Believe also in me.")
To believe in a person, is similar but also quite different to believing in specific concepts.
Believing in a person comes from knowing and trusting, and ultimately in loving a person.
Same sermon, just as good the second time. Then cuppas and cake and catching up etc.. and they shouted me some stuff from Foodbank for the trip in the next few days.
Home to the hotel room, phone calls to family, dinner was the doggy bag from lunch.
An Anglican Church building on the way might be available to doss down my sleeping bag in.
Do the blog, and shower, shave, bandaids etc.. ready to be up at 6:30am
A good, and very rich day.
OLD TO NEW WORLD VIEW
Despite that science tells us "This world is
not what it seems on outside, to the feel,
with layers upon layers forming things",
I still believe that our ol' world is real.
Our scientific story tells us that
despite what we all see here (think we "know"),
there's layers of "community" which mat
together, and which interleave.. (quite so):《1》
Inside, within each body, making up
the living ones, are individu'l "cells",
or living creatures that can be corrupt-
ed, or combined to make a host where dwells
the multicelled "community" we see
that's planted right before us "on" (or "in")
our ground of being. Even you and me.
And these can be disrupted or can win!
The ways that these communities would seize
things 'round about to aid their tiny parts,
to work together: shelter, feed, and ease
their life, to bring a thriving from their starts,
are called in this Our world "to feed", & "clothe
and shelter", self or fam'ly, other lives.
The old words from Our world that covered both
are "love", & then there's "peace"- which meant "life thrives".
But smaller yet, each body that exists,
of rocks, or gasses, animals or plants;
(and irrespective of "life" tagged to its
existence as an entity, per chance..)
is made of smaller atoms, molecules,
or other things that kind of are like "seas".
But smaller yet (these aren't just words of fools)
are forces "circling", balancing with ease.
Where either particles or waves "impart"
existence to those higher levels too.
But here we haven't even made a start
on bigger things, like Galaxies and U-
ni-verse, or other categ'ries rehearsed,
like Supernova, Nebulae, and Giants,
Dwarves, and other stars that shoot and burst,
to cook up compounds, elements and ions
from which all of the rest can start to "be".
Invisible dimensions in this way
we start to understand, and maybe "see"
within our "mind's eye" - as they used to say.
But still our story makes more sense, or less
of all dimensions we've encountered here,
since we were born - to order and to mess,
with this ol' world. - And this is where I cheer
myself as I move on, and others too.
The world we "started" in, that let us learn
about dimensions and these worlds that you
have just now been reminded of, don't spearn!
The story that's apparent: God made this
whole world with more dimensions than you'd poke
at with a stick, does not seem so remiss
and starts to look less like it was a joke!
"The best is yet to come", as AA found
in fact, through living in this re-al world.
And there's a higher power hanging round
to see if we would reach out and be curled
within the love of biggest Dad, or Mum,
and let the Great Creator's fam-il-y
look after us and grow us, and then some..
towards more of a nature that is free
to love back, as we have ourselves been loved.
And that's why most religions in this world
admire, and think good-life was surely gloved
within the life, that we have mostly hurled
our insults at, and blamed him for our faults
and misdemeanours, laziness, and such.
It's him I would commend to you. Us dolts,
we killed the model human God loved much -
the second Adarm (and would kill his Eve,
that God brings from him while he's "not around").
In jealousy and ignorance, we'd weave
a net to catch them yet, like beasts been found
and named. So if you ask me to I'll tell
the story of the glory of God "THERE",
who loves his kids, and wants them to do well,
take on creative love, and learn to share.
《1》 physically enact this by interleaving the fingers from each hand with those of the other
