You say the end of all things is quite near.
The Jews who followed Jesus at the first..
First Century agreed, they had no fear,
for they interpret-ed Christ's life as burst-
ing with the life and promise of brand NEW..
new covenant, new Father, new fam'ly,
new kind of teacher for God's people, who
would like his Father, slow to anger, be
so full of tender kindness that he'd join
in with them in their lives and lead the way
of trusting God, with little more than loin-
cloth, focussed on him, not technology!
A new humanity, new life, new birth,
And new reminders from our daily lives.
This means a new creation, thus new Earth
for (not that it has failed), he hears it's cries.
This whole world order, based as it is on
humanity's desires - they're THE key,
with privilege and power choosing one
(or two, the few - "There isn't much you see!")
to take a turn to make, or force, co-erce,
the others to co-operate to do
a large-scale thing, to get them, makes things worse.
Yeshua gave another (old, made) new
command that only works on who enlists
themselves to learn from Him, and in this Way.
So he reminds us of his motive force..
alert, with self-control, thus he OBEYs.
The end of all things is near. You must be self-controlled and alert, to be able to pray. Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. Open your homes to each other without complaining. ..
1 Peter 4:7-11 GNB (slightly adjusted by me) (Gk and several other versions)
.. that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. ..
