In Parables...

…He taught them many things,
as much as they could understand,
and when they were alone with him
they asked him for a helping hand, ...

…asked him to help their mother,
or to get some wedding wine,
brought to him their baby brother
to bless, to help him grow up fine.

They asked him to explain some more,
and exactly what he meant
with stories he just told before,
though others named him "Dissident".
And he asked them about their talk
-the topics (& the motives) –
gave them nick-names, & didn’t balk
at parties, or explotives#
He came, he went, he conquered
(he’s coming back again!).
He was moving, hungry, “zonkered”
-& mostly with his friends.
He shared his private life of prayer;
not all but quite enough,
like when he felt God wasn’t there,
and for enemies & stuff.
His coming, sharing, speaking,
“down-to-earth” & common-place,
was part of his “concreting
work”*, that brought them “face to face”.

# explosive situations & provocative verbal analogies

* This man was a builder. This builder’s concreting work was the formation of parables!
