your heart will always be where your riches are.
So do not be afraid, my little flock,
your Father’s pleased to give to you his own..
the Kingdom of our God. He is the rock
and he’s the hand that cut it, saw it thrown
down here, to earth, and his the pow'r that swelled
it so that it would overcome all else,
The kingdoms of this world have never smelled
quite like your chosen one, who always smells
to me the perfume of a life and words
that match together, yet won't just sit by,
he deals with all the stupid and absurd
somehow, yet when it’s time he goes to die.
So sell all your belongings and give all
the money that's thus gained to all the poor.
Get currencies yourselves that will not fall,
that won't deflate, wear out, or “be no more”.
And save your riches where they won't decrease,
in realms where stable government holds tight,
with ruler who can guarantee no theives
can get to them, no rust, no moth, no blight!
Where nothing can destroy them, they just grow
way past the interest from a bank down here
if parent love is anything to show
the interest that a heart can have, it’s clear...
For hearts of love have shown more interest won
than banks in any country in this world
and “giving” is their staple, when begun
they're hard to stop. Love's flag is there unfurled!
29 “So don't be all upset, always concerned about what you will eat and drink. 30 (For the pagans of this world are always concerned about all these things.) Your Father knows that you need these things. 31 Instead, be concerned with his Kingdom, and he will provide you with these things.
Riches in Heaven
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the Kingdom. 33 Sell all your belongings and give the money to the poor. Provide for yourselves purses that don't wear out, and save your riches in heaven, where they will never decrease, because no thief can get to them, and no moth can destroy them. 34 For your heart will always be where your riches are.
Watchful Servants
35 “Be ready for whatever comes, dressed for action and with your lamps lit, 36 like servants who are waiting for their master to come back from a wedding feast. When he comes and knocks, they will open the door for him at once.
