Give thanks to God, who made each bit of stuff.
As a small boy who makes tracks in the sand
gives thanks to his dad - who gave him enough
to have such fun in sandpits with cars, and

is specially glad to have a car like Dad's,
to match his habits, and his countenance.
Give thanks in both the "good" times and the "bads",
for real "Good" ain't just "getting" all our plans.

Give thanks to Yahweh, who as Self exists,
is Love, & yet is too - a Unity,
is modelling how to live within the mists
of darkness, & of bright light, truly free!

And praise the Lord, who's given us his name
-as his own children, his surname is ours.
And celebrate His works, speak of, proclaim
to all the ethnic groups how great his pow'rs!

And let them know (not just hear it in word)
how mighty He is, & how trustworthy.
His goodness and his faithfulness (absurd
to all who don't know Love, & will not see)

demands I learn to trust, be confident,
to live with an assurance (that's true hope)
that his visions & dreams are better yet,
worth listening to, & give the greatest scope(!),

& bring with them as well, the pow'r to act,
to make them happen, and make them come true.
His word gives certainty that's more than "fact"
(established as our scientists would do).
