Feed my sheep.

Well one day when that Jesus saw the crowds
who'd come to him 'cause they were looking for
some hope that God might not be lost in shrouds
of tabernacle, or in temple law.

[He'd sent his men out two by two to tell
the news that God was still in charge, & loved;
& gave authority to them as well
to be a sign that they were him en-gloved.

And they had said the words, & done the deeds;
some people had then hoped beyond all hope,
for what his men had borne were like good  seeds.
They'd fished these people in, but couldn't cope.]

Then he was moved, compassion for them felt,
because they were "harassed and helpless sheep",
with faithless shepherds who had no doubt dealt
as drama actors, just to get their keep;

might as well have been "without a shepherd".
Then He said to his men "a cropping farm
has just come into harvest. It's peppered
with yields that could make workers' backs be harmed.

But oh I tell you workers who will work,
are few and far between (as you can see)."
So "God in heaven, help us not to shirk,
& send us out to gain the victory!

Please send out workers to just bring right in
that harvest that is yours from your good land
(your "crop" is your children who are frightened,
& you are able to help them to stand)!

..........
Jesus saw the crowds and He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said "THE HARVEST IS GREAT, BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW" .... Matthew 9:37-38 (PM Version)
