(2026/10/30 - Katrina)
Katrina - fruiting body, our family.
She hears and speaks and reads & also plays.
She cleans and makes the meals, and brings beauty
out all around. She’ll wash and put away
sometimes, and often helps folk in the town.
She talks to people passing on the street,
and thinks of neighbours over, up, and down.
She tries not to ignore, will often greet.
And God, may she know your great open heart,
who does the same towards her all the time.
Who’ll listen, look, and help her make a start
& then accomplish some things quite sublime.
Her husband is delighted with her care
her loveliness, her giving of her best.
He loves to gaze upon her luscious hair,
rose-gold, and all her body makes him blest.
He truly is right glad, as they would grow
together learning love, so immature.
And maybe God, you set this up to show
us ways and means of learning to endure
with joy and gladness, not just duty’s stern
& true denial of the self’s strong claim
to independence. Gladly we would learn
to live a life of love, not just in name!
By constant acts, and tones, words with respect,
to honour all the best that comes about.
Seek honour, glory. God will not neglect
to grant the life that grows. No need to shout.
