Sing with me!*

(And) I will sing of the glory of the Lord come down,

I will sing (I will sing)

oh I will sing! (oh I will sing!)..

I will sing of the glory of the Lord come down,

I will sing (of the glory of the Lord!)...

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (your faithfulness)

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (to all generations).

I will sing when at sunrise all your colours abound

I will sing (I will sing!)...

oh I will sing!...(oh I will sing!)...

I will sing while the colours and the shades profound-

ly, show out (the glory of this God!)...

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (your faithfulness)

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (to all generations).

I will sing in the night-time when the sun’s not seen

I will sing (I will sing!)...

oh I will sing!...(oh I will sing!)...

relating what goes out beyond this earth, I mean

I will sing (of the glory of the Lord!)...

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (your faithfulness)

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (to all generations).

I will sing of the wonder of the Christ of God,

I will sing (I will sing!)...

oh I will sing!...(oh I will sing!)...

I will herald the story of how he has trod

on this Earth (as the glory of the Lord!)...

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness ( your faithfulness)

With my mouth will I make known

your faithfulness (to all generations).

I will sing of the glory of the Lord around,

I will sing (I will sing)

oh I will sing! (oh I will sing!)...

His body is in heaven, yet on Earth unbound..

for his spirit (brings the glory of our Lord!)...

Footnote
!* - a mix of collected traditions, based originally on the song "I Will Sing of the Mercies of the Lord Forever", composed by James H. Fillmore, based on Psalm 89:1. It looks like it had been  adjusted in Christian youth camps etc (as the Psalms enjoin us to “sing a new song to the Lord”) and the words “Mercies of the Lord forever” exchanged to “glory of the Lord come down”. Not knowing this, the two were stored in different parts of my memory, and this morning (after I sang it, while looking for words) I put them together, kept the chorus/bridge of the psalm, and added the other verses that grew out of the concept of God’s Glory being modelled or analogized by the sun, and God’s glory being exemplified in his Son (His anointed, Christened "Leader of Humanity") and God’s children now being encouraged to be filled with his spirit, the same spirit which filled his Son and has now been gifted to all his children to continue his display of his glory on Earth, as a real rendition of “the body of Christ”, on Earth, as in Heaven.
