the blue curtain to the heavens is drawn back, and we must soon trust our selves to those heavens, as our bodies & minds fall unconscious in sleep..
Yes! Blest are you oh God, commander of
the host of heaven’s armies, source of tov*,
who opens wide blue curtain of the sky
& closes lids of eyes, and helps us sigh
as we may see light bodies float above
in dances with the muse of truth and love,
and know our need to trust more than our strength
and whits - unconsciousness succeeds at length.
Into your hands, my spirit I commit,
to back receive from you - as you see fit.
Yes,
Yes!
Draft1 of an Audio Recording of this as song.
Footnotes
v* - tov, is the Hebrew word for "good" (as in the seven times in Genesis chapter One, where it says that "God saw that it was good" ( or "very good" = tov tov)
An idea that came Sat morning (10/10/2026) over coffee at a friends’ place... (It felt like it needed to be nurtured to birth? - an example of birthing it, is now above):
In line with the common 1st CENTURY Jewish prayers, which it is likely that a torah observant Jesus prayed... I wonder if we could get for our culture, instead of its arrogantly independent spirit, a (or a couple of) simple, short, heart warming, truth speaking prayer(s) to end off any given day, to pray as we lay down to go to sleep, or walk under the stars/moon, or retire to bed.
Then, every family or household group have a go at putting it to a chant, or a Karta, or a song, or ballad etc (i.e. adding a dimension to it), so that we end up with 7 or 10 usable versions between us, to help us set our hearts at the start of the night, or end of day, or going to sleep, with some choice and variety built-in (after we learn each other's versions).
After that, we could work on one for walking out of our home, or into our workplace, or through a doorway… etc…
