Now Celebrate Our Les ol' mate!

Another year
to this old Les
has come by here
I do confess

he doesn't look
much older yet,
but by the book
now you can bet

there comes a time,
a creak, and groan
not quite sublime
(like when he's mown)

when ol' bods call
to say they're on
the downward fall
to help us learn

that this ain't all.
This life is not
the final call,
or all we've got.

And soon there'll be
this ache, that pain,
that come for free
and then you'll gain

a looking to,
a bright glad hope
- body renewed,
which might help cope.

At least be glad
for what has worked,
it's not all sad,
it has not shirked.

It did the job
for good long years.
O help us God,
till he appears

to wake from sleep
our brand new bods
so thus to peep
at baby gods.

This whole earth waits
and we must too
till real mirth sates
and we see you.

When Les sees God,
and God sees Les.
Watch, wait and nod:
"How good!" each says.
