My hope is in - not what some people do,
nor ultimately in some principle

..own understanding of what is unclean.
For God is able to outstrip the best
and redefine reality, I mean
it's he himself who's Lord, who’s source of “Blessed..".
His loving kindness never ceases. His
own faithful love is what will never end.
They’re new each morning. Great! - His faithfulness!
And all around, his universe may bend,
and I will worship not theology,
nor my own understandings (though I've sought
quite long and hard, at his command, to see
what's true and right, and how the battle's fought
against our ignorance, and lack of sense,
and lack of knowledge, lack of wisdom's light)
I will just ask the source of all these hence,
to give some to me, and I'll stop my fight,
my claim to Own, to be the Boss, and Lord
and I'll receive, as a small child, his reign,
in awe of all his holiness, move forward,
while trem-bl-ing before him who has deigned
to make a world stand firm to walk upon,
that we on Earth be glad, rejoice, and sing,
burst out like birds, with joy, for He will come

Goldy lochs - and keys...

Once there was a gypsy migrant chap called Sadim (his friends called him “Midas”[1]) who loved looking for gold. Along with his mate Dedlig, he’d often be found digging down creeks and waterways, sluicing for gold dust, gold chips & nuggets, and fishing through creeks and other gutters or seismic fissures where geological events had intruded across gold laden quartz veins throughout the countryside.
They had worked out some of the basics and knew where to look, and how to use the native properties of gold to distinguish between the weighty gold, and the flecks of iron pyrites which mimicked it.
When they went out dredging for gold for a week-end, or a week, they often found enough to pay for all their camping equipment, transport costs, gold dredging equipment costs, food, - and a bit more.
In their search for gold they discovered a number of interesting, and sometimes contrary, things about place names. For instance, some names that claimed an association with gold, such as “Gold-Dust Cafe” were simply an expression of someone’s dramatic tendencies, or hopeful wishes for more gold-dust, or, a long dead and now empty, past.
But contrary to that there was another phenomenon where a name like “Gold Creek Road” on the map, often meant that in years gone by the road had been in, or beside, a creek bed that had at some time given leave of some quantities of gold. And sometimes careful noting of the topography of the place, and the lay of the land could give rise to hidden or overlooked “pockets”, where gold-dust or even gold-chips, could still be found - if one knew how to look for them.
Where a name communicated something of a place’s history, there was always the question of which kind of name was this? - Was this a dramatic ploy trying to encounter more of the desired substance (gold) in the present day? Did it indicate an insight into a real, but long-gone and now-empty history? Or, was this an incidental insight inviting further cunning investigation?
Once, this conundrum showed itself quite markedly. They were in an area around Orange, where gold mines had existed in the past…
Dedlig noted something on a map of the area… (t.b.c.)
[Dedlig and Sadim sometimes differed as to which category a particular naming instance was an example of. Sometimes there was no answer to be had by theorizing, they had to get out, and do the work of thinking and looking for gold! And when they thought, worked, and looked together they noted more, and got more. Thus they learned to trust their buddy’s inklings, as well as their own, and to trust ordinary logic and the stability of reality too.]
[1] Midas was the name of the king who was granted his wish that everything he touch should turn to gold, and it is also Sadim spelled backwards.

Akoloutheo - Following (The Leader[1])
But "looking out for one another's int-
-rests, not just for your own"[2]. That’s just like him!
His attitude's becoming your eye's glint,
expressed in “these his lives” in ways less dim.
Thus he who was by very nature God,
did not think he must clutch that close to him,
and cling to be seen “equal” as he trod
this earth, entrusting self to God's own whim.
And so, of his own will - he gave it up,
he let it go, then took on suffering,
the nature of a servant, or a cup-
cup-bearer who must drink what's offering.
Un-erring like a “son of Adam” he
appeared on Earth, and humble, walked the path -
o’bedience, and all the way to “D”
his Death- a death of shame and a “blood bath”.
So FOR this reason God has raised him to
the highest place above, and given him
the name and title greatest, that can do
“much more”! Compared all other titles dim.
And so, in honor of the Yeshua’s name
all beings in the heavens, on earth too,
and in the world below will fall the same
on knees, and all will openly say you
were right in making Jesus - “Christ the Lord”,
and god of all humanity, our Boss;
his attitude is like yours. He's no fraud,
and God the Father's glory isn't lost!

Do not fear... you are given a future and a hope!
Then Jesus brought his peace into that place
of fear, and death, & torture, where they were.
That “shallom” peace of “thriving” on his face,
and in his breath, his spirit he confired.
And while he did not hide his suffering,
it wasn't quite “The End” of how things went,
in fact this new beginning (buffering)
was coming soon, to “Centre Stage” “Hea’en sent”.
His own disciples, tracing where he stepped,
might well 've been scared of what all that meant.
He didn't put them down a peg, but kept
the pressure on, for they'd go where he went.
Now they would be baptised with his baptism,
and have that same anointing that he had.
Forgive the sins of people- then, risen,
would feed and care for them, as mum or dad.
And he was found amongst them, and they got
the pow'r of God, within community
embodied in himself, & then that lot
(he’d prayed to God “Forgive them, they don’t see...”
- but then he’d given them the gift before
their very eyes & ears, they’d know, if they
we're int’rested in love, deeper than law.

But these of Yeshua, his “dear children”,
he gave “from Hea’en above” resources to
continue on his mission, with wisdom,
- God’s very nature. He said that would do!
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. In Jesus, as James saw him, I can be
not quick to make my point here (with some pow'r),
or quick to make folk listen up to me.
His creativity and love, is ours!
He's given his own spirit to his ones.
He's shared his whole mindset, and method too.
His WAY, is for all HIS daughters and sons,
"most excellent way"* now for me and you.
He doesn't MAKE folk DO so very much,
for that weak kind of power does not bring change
of heart, & mind, with deep commitments, such
that people's whole lives are then re-arranged.
The righteousness of God is not just "works",
although it comes to change all them as well,
it's not just stickers he puts on some jerks,
it is a PERSON! - who "does all things well"#.
He even makes the deaf one's ears to hear
their Father God - sometimes through others too,

and list'ning for what God would have me do.
And when I am tongue-tied and don't know what
to say, he'll give me what to speak from him,
I might not have an answer in a shot,

Teaching in informal situations
How do I move from being a “teacher”, teaching a class, where I have been asked to teach, to teaching an individual, when that IS appropriate (because it isn't always, is it?)?
“Even teaching a five-year-old how to do an A chord and teaching a 50-year-old how to do an A chord will be done in different ways, with different words, and different modelling, and different amounts, and ways, of talking about it. You have to monitor the situation to see another person's level and what they can intake and how they approach it and how they can take it in cos that then sets the boundaries of what you can give, and how to give it, and in what sort of clothing, or how it's wrapped up.” Spencer C., Wed 6 Feb 2019.
The key to Spencer's insight seems to be that word “monitor” , which has a major component of “listening, looking, observing, thinking about the fitness of the situation to some information or strategy, or mechanism.

Resilience in being, and in relationship...
I found myself in our dining room talking with my wife last night, but according to my daughter, Milly, I was speaking to my wife in a patronizing way, & then speaking louder & faster... Milly beautifully said: "Dad, that sounds patronizing.... something's not right, ... you are speaking faster & louder... can you sense it?" I couldn't really, but I believe her. Still, by the end of the time, my wife felt very hurt & I felt a bit raw & numb. We prayed for help from God.
When I mentioned some of this to a friend in my LTG today, he said "Oh, I was reading this article on Collaboration .." & he read a bit out that mentioned that the major impediment to Collaboration & Resilience is Defensiveness, and that in order to get around that road-block it gave six simple points. One was that it was a good idea to Name your own Defensive Strategies and gave a non-exhaustive list including:
I cut and pasted it to make it more easily printable (but the initial link is there on the second line). I have read it all at least once. A lot of it resonates with what I've already learned and know to be true. Some of the wording mightn't quite work for you, try to get the big ideas.

"Design Patterns"*
"Design patterns” in narrative are strewn
throughout the story of the Bible's grace;
hence “Jonah’s story” quite reflects, as moon
reflects the sunlight from another place,
or time, or ethnic group, it reappears
in other settings: God “relented and
did not bring on disaster threatened clear”(1).
at first to his folk, then another land.
Another one, from Moses story too,
is when (before God makes him Ruler/Judge)
a fight between two “brothers” had ensued:
the pow'rfull one asks, and he will not budge,
he asks of the young Moses, “Who made you
a ruler and a judge who's over us?(2)
And then another Joshua asks too
by using those “same” words re. two brothers.
For when you know the story's irony
you know the answer to the question well.
and Jesus/Joshua is over me,
with whiff of God's own Cosmic Leader's “smell”.
And later on when talking “leadership”
of God's own people, he makes sport 'o the
self-centred leaders who would take a sip
of God's good wine, but turn to water the
good celebration of a faithful wife
and husband who would be true to the end.
So when Yeshua's ‘sign’(3) starts married life
he's tuning to design patterns, my friend!

‘When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites. He saw one of them being ill-treated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defence and avenged him by killing the Egyptian. Moses thought that his own people would realise that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not. The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying, “Men, you are brothers; why do you want to hurt each other?” ‘But the man who was ill-treating the other pushed Moses aside and said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?” When Moses heard this, he fled to Midian, where he settled as a foreigner and had two sons. Acts 7:23-29 NIVUK
