After Psalm 96, by Ethan & Paul: (audio, with piano)
So sing a song that's new unto the Lord!
For all the world, shall sing what's true to him.
So herald every day the news abroad -
that he has saved us, & still saves from sin*!
Proclaim his glory to the nations, his..
his great & worthy deeds to all peoples.
He should be highly praised; the great Lord is…
to be more honored than gods & temples.
The gods of all the nations- idols are,
but Yahweh's the creator of all things.
All splendour, glory, majesty & pow'r
with beauty will surround his nest, his wings…
his house, his holy space, is drenched in these.
All people should give praise on earth, to God;
bring off'rings acknowledging his glories.
His name and might be voiced, not just have nod!
All bodies on the Earth bow down before
the Holy One who plans to come, appear;
& all the earth will tremble to the core -
before him! Say to all the nations here:
“The Lord is king! He'll reign upon his Earth.
His earth is set, and firmly in its place.
It can't be moved. He'll judge all, since their birth,
all peoples justly, throughout time & space.”
Be glad, earth, sky, & sea, all creatures, roar;
be jubilant you fields, and all within!
The trees in woods will shout for joy! What for?
All righteousness & truth rule under him!
* by "sin", is meant a falling short from all
the best and brightest hopes of what might be
(the wish that life might not be mean and small),
the hope for growth in generosity!
Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.” Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord. For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.
