Why's God like this?

If you, in living life on God's good Earth

would find a situation where your lack

of wisdom is shown up (for at your birth

you weren't full grown), then you could go right back

to only-wise-one, God, who made (with ease)

the lot, by speaking from his loving heart.

And he who had provided those two trees

(as well as all that orchard, by his art

of gard'ning, to provide their gracious food):

the Trees of - Life (whose seed when buried's freed

to spell the love that shows this life quite rude);

-  the Knowledge of both Good and Evil we'd

encounter not by eating, but by not..

And he whose generosity is free,

and made us like to him, the very God,

& wanted us to grow to know as we

are known, by parents who well love their child.

He will not force it on us, but we may

look up in hopeful trust, when things grow  wild,

& know that he looked forward to this day.

For greatest of his wishes is to share

life with his children, as they look up to

their Daddy as they learn that he is there

when night has come, or closed eyes can't see you.

You love to hear our call, and respond then

not only to our words requesting what

we thought we knew we needed. You know when

is needed, what. Great, mighty loving God!
