Living under a Lord

Wait patiently for God, who is The Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes
wait patiently for his command, assured
that he knows times and places and what's best.

But you will have to get to know this God,
and keep on too, to know his very heart.
And this is not so really very odd
for all friendships move t’ward this from the start.

And if you have a “Lord”, who’s over you
(when you're a child, this might be Mum 'n’ Dad),
at first you’ll be told everything to do,
but later on you’re told, why just a tad

of all the details; you're expected to
fill in the gaps (not with your made up thoughts),
but knowing your Lord’s heart you know to do
what’s needed, and that’s backed up by the “oughts"

of life, like having loyalty to love
& truth, and thus the kind of “Lord” you’ve got
will be a curse, or blessing from above,
and you’ll rejoice, or be sad, quite a lot.

So in this world, consider it pure joy,
my brothers/sisters, whenever you face
those trials of many kinds. You know, “O boy!”
this testing of your faith will bring more grace;

endurance will grow in you. Let it grow,
for when it’s done you will be perfect. Know,
it will complete love, and will always show
God’s good supply in right time here below!

Wait patiently for The Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes wait patiently for The Lord. Psalm 27:14 (PM Version)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds. For you know that when faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:2-4 (PM Version)
