Forget the past 
and look forward 
to what will last
and keep coming..

so technically
from what we know,
can hear, and see,
without dumbing

everything down
to bite-sized bits,
you must not frown
to follow it...

Since this world's "change"
is a decay,
it may seem strange
for me to say:

To find what lasts
and grows more good
will take us past
this world of "should",

to Christ's own rule
that's now ahead,
that's when God's tool,
Earth's kingdom-ing,

is taken up
in God' own "Head"
all's shaken up,
finally humming!

... ,,, ... ,,, ...

But even now
God's Life is here.
Spirit somehow
in Him appeared,

and real good has
been created.
When our eyes, as
God's did, see it,

it's likely that
as Jesus did,
we'll give God thanks,
we'll flip our lid,

yes praise him too,
Lord Almighty,
his love endures
and he is free

to do as he
would like to do.
The Almighty
is good all through!

His faithful Love,
unfailingly,
came "weak as dove"
of peace you see.

But God has now
raised him up high!
To him we bow,
no more he'll die!

Mark's account - up on a mount!

Well, "I'm enjoying some of Mark's account*",
he says to me, with twinkle in his eyes.
I wonder what he likes? Is it the MOUNT
that Jesus went up to before those guys

were called by him to make the newest twelve;
beginning of the "offspring" of the brand
new Isra'el whose sons would good, and well,

vol-um-in-ous-ly fill, and rule, as planned

by God's own Word, at first back down the track,

but not as kings of this world do today,

as he would MOUNT his cross upon his back,

ascending any lonely MOUNT to pray.

Might be the MOUNT where he took his close three

to be alone with him, but then they met

with two who'd met the Most High already,

and subsequently led folk further yet.

Might be the MOUNT that he had ridden on

into Jeru-salem before he's dead.

The kind of transport then "unhidden from"

a tradesman's pregnant woman - so it's said.

Might be the MOUNT of Olives where he prayed

in garden - NOT to have what he desired

(like garden on a mountain in the shade

of tree where other "son of God" had sired

a “way of life” that led to sin and death);

instead he'd MOUNT a cross - for life and peace,

by loving not his life on Earth, each breath

he gave to save us from a “life” deceased.

I'm leaving you a gift -

Yeshua said "I'm leaving you a gift."

I wonder what he thought would be of help?
He said the Father's gift to us would lift
us from despondency, as his own whelp.

The spirit of his holiness, God gave.
Until that, we were losers - proven well.
But his love for his children means he'll save
them (at whatever cost to him) from hell

and death (which are usurpers at this time).
Yeshua gifted something to us too -
the kind of peace that's thriving and sublime:
SHALOM* which heals and multiplies the few.

So the anointed one (which is the Christ
- Messiah, if you have it from Hebrew)
anointed with God's Spirit, sacrificed
his life on earth this time, bringing the new..

which had been prophesied in ages past,
and visions of the prophets woke up dreams
and hopes for what could come, but then at last
this man came and fulfilled them all it seems.

He healed, and fed, and paid, to not offend
the smallest glimmer of goodness and hope,
he trusted God to vindicate, and send
a life-line down from heaven - God's own rope

or ladder, path, or stairway, up & down...
as Jacob saw that night he dreamed that dream.
A portal to God's heaven all around,
to lift us up, to sit with him, a team!

*  “Shalom”, the Hebrew word translated into Greek as “Eirene”, and into English as “Peace”, had a nuance not often associated with our English word Peace. Although it could be associated with a lack of war, it led the Hebrew person immediately into pictures of “under God's anointed King, having no oppression, owning their own land, thriving blessedness, their families, gardens, crops, herds all flourishing, and fitting with the overall ecosystem well!” - sort of what someone might mean in our popular culture, by the phrase “heaven on earth”.

Wedding day...

Today our son is moving into place
as leader of a "Two-man*" creature which
is to be born this day in private space

that's after wedding ceremony's “hitch”.

He's starting like a new-born once again,

and so there'll be much crying, learning too,

to come to know the hills and hollows, when

the lay-of-land's important, what to do.

So take your time, especially in fore-play,

in warming up your woman to unite,

and savour all the afterglow, and lay

about and spread that feeling of delight.

And keep on learning what could heat her up,

and what could keep her up there for more time,

before a quick volcano has erupt-

ed. I'm still learning. Don't give up, or whine

-  except to your own father up above,

then listen to ideas that he gives.

He made ’s to express well all his love,

and pleasure at good list-en-ing, to live.

And BE the little one you are with him;

and BE the leader, soldier, with your girl,

and flow as you learn to, when light is dim,

a work or art, a carta, … be no churl.

responding to God's anointed Leader of Humanity

This Christ within 's the kind of being who

so floods you with a bright expectancy!
This mystery Messiah comes to groups;

becomes a treasure-chest that's full-filled free

with riches glor-i-ous for his people,

and God wants everyone to know this truth!
That’s Christ in us - the hope of glory - full.
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, forsooth,

no mind imagined what he has prepared

for those who love (reflecting his in truth,
pursuing righteousness and love to share)

will find abundant life with honoured youth-

fullness within the body of his Son,

with each of us, unique, a vital part.
Oh Lord, direct me through my journey un-

til I experience your plans to start

a new creation, here within this life.

Reveal your paths that I might also please

you, as a husband is pleased with his wife

when she responds to his advance with ease.

So too, proactive with companionship,
she tries to build a friendship over time.
So that their union won't be something slipped
right out of when things don't feel that sublime.

And messy stuff in intimacy flows
around about, within, & between them.
And God's the one who's not ashamed and knows -
designed for more creative love to blend.

de birthday boy!

So “Happy birthday!” now, old man, to you.
This day I should recall, from other years.
It caught me by surprise this year it's true.
I'm glad that when each morning's sun appears,

our neighbours near are you and your lady.
I'm glad of opportunities to share,
& scheme, & dream, become a team, fam'ly.
God, I remember your good plans to care

and furthermore to grow us up, become
much more than we'd imagine, leaving these
old ways for dead, the best is yet to come.
So we are given hope in ev'ry breeze.

Each wind, the spirit that brings rain (or not),
the breath of this old earth, and of ourself.
Each turn of Earth around the sun's bright spot,
brings closer to our coming out in health.

And though you're fifty six years old today,
if Jesus’ way of seeing things is used,
you're “fifty six years young”, I think he'd say -
within a cent-u-ry you will have snoozed!

But until you do rest in peace - asleep,
each day's another chance to share his life,
and learn in God's good world, to have a peep
at what he's doing now. His power's rife.

The pow-er of the rule of God right here,
the will of God that's done - on Earth, as Hea'en,
may it be seen more in your life this year,
& even more for you're young “fifty seven”!

The prayer of a man in community

Don't want to stay

where I am now.

I want to pray

throughout the day.

Not just the kind

of special time,

but all day find

I'm in your mind

in such a way

that then you grow

in work and play,

in me, to show

responsive love

that means I share

with you above

-and everywhere-

and every way,

my life and friends,

so you could say

there are no ends,

though still begin

-each innings must-

with breaks at night

for sleep and such

but not to get

away from you

it's more to let

you more into

my life and self,

in mind and heart

my body's health

is all, in part

designed I see

to grow full life

right here through me

like we're your wife,

to let you be

more stable than

your love in me,

-  to grow this man,

and this, also,

community

to come to know

as fam-i-ly

this greater god

who leads us on-
