Milly- 25 years on...(1/4 of a century!)

Well Millicent Jayne Tullia Heer walks
through life with a man, one Duncan McLean,
with a wise courage, for she rarely baulks,
but steps to follow God's will once again.

The Joy of God is passed on to his child,
it's like we are connected mystic'ly,

much deeper than happy or sad - it's wild,

with roots that run outside this earth & sea.

It breathes a wind that is not made of air,
and has a peace that's not just "striving ceased",
and yet it flourishes and strengthens where
our strength is gone, and so we are released;

from thinking all this world here is "the lot",
and too from thinking that it ain't a thing;
we've come to see it as a womb, and not
our place to walk as "independant-ling".

So we give thanks to God who is The Good,
the only True, Real Source, and Faithful Love,
that he endures forever's understood,
& spurrs us to wear our  "endurance" gloves.

And thank you Lord that you have shown to me
the path of life, it's in your presence that
I find real joy. At your right hand there be
forever pleasures, which can't just "go flat".

And so on this day, 25 years on,
from when that baby girl came out on Earth,
we're glad that you our Milly now belong
to more blest ones who are glad of your birth!

The Lord himself, he does, he satisfies
the soul that hungers and thirsts for goodness.
So follow his lead, he does not despise
those who need help with basics, like address,

or food, or clothes, or friends, or help to see
that they are not alone, unloved, down here.
So don't forget your hospitality
(not everything is as it does appear!).

And some who took in hobos have not known
them as God's servants - for they were hidden
until that final day when all is shown,
they've  entertained God's angels, unbidden.

So keep on praying, live in God's presence,
and watch out, so to keep a heart that thanks,
for all the gifts that come as just  presents,
and storerooms of God's goods, which act as banks.

Let me encourage you to  thank The Lord,
and praise the name of who first made, & named,
connected us all through language and "good" 
(he saw goodness, and too, then who was "framed"

as source of good, the author of the lot)
authority he holds by  reason then
of lines of authorship quite deep, and not
an afterthought or slip to allow men

to claim "divine right" for their rulers' reign.
If we declare His deeds among people,
he is the one who feeds, and shows again
his love and grace and truth that can keep all

the aberrations there within their place.
The Mighty One, the Lord is who will be
then shown to be the Truth, wearing a face,
& his good gifts to all of us we'll see

& think they are our "right", or be disgraced
by all our "rightful" thinking up til then.
God save us from our pompousness of face.
I think you chose the best man among men!

So I am not ashamed of God's Good News
about his christened "Leader of Humans".
For God's own pow'r is saving all who choose
with God, for such a leader as he plans.

Be still, don't act, or even do a thing,

upshot...

I am not anxious about anything, but in every situation, I pray and give thanks to God for all he has done.
And when pray I experience God's peace, which exceeds anything I can understand. His peace guards my heart and mind as I live for Jesus!!  Philippians 4:6-7 (PM Version)


For when I “pray” and give thanks to the God 
who made this world (all humans are his kids)
I notice all the goodness (where he’s trod),
it’s his acts make me open up my lids

each morning, to get up and look around
& try to join in with good things he’s done
while I'm out to it through the night, he's found
a host of good things he could do for fun.

The first thing I can do is look and see
with eyes that can do that - to use them well,
the next I want to “do”, is just to “be”
in that same place of purpose, & to “tell”,

to speak with speech & body language (more!),
what I have seen, to amplify it on,
like give it airplay in our minds before
we start to magnify the stuff that’s wrong.

But also to bear witness (like in court)
where people are deciding what is real,
to speak of what I've seen, as well as naught,
to help us humans understand and feel

this life as it is in reality.
So when I live in God’s presence each day
I find that I experience a peace
that’s hard to put in words. That’s how I  “pray”,

and somehow God’s new wonders never cease,
his peace guards heart & mind for me as well.
To be joined to God’s Christ is sweet release,
from all my own rubbish and from God’s hell*.


* In the scriptures that record the words of God's Christ-ened "Leader of Humanity", the Greek word behind the English translation "hell" is "gehenna", the Jewish name for the Valley of Hinom which was used as the rubbish dump for the capital city - Jerusalem. This seems to have become a metaphore for a dump for all of God's Creation (in heaven & earth) throughout  all time.

Yee harr! And thanks to God, that he drug us

out of the rubbish heap*, dusted us off,
gave us the kiss of life & then hugged us,
the kiss of welcome, healing, that shows love.

Then breathed his breath of life, energy in,
and wakened up that part of me like him;
communicated his way of seein’
his life & love, and purpose - more than whim.

And wow, he's freeing us from our own will
(as though it was the final word on life,
the central purpose to gain here until
we are the centrepiece, our will is rife).

My old conception may not be so right -
that I'm the centrepiece of this whole world,
where everyone-else now must just sit tight
& do exactly what they have been told.

Or else, at least to back me all the time
& see life as I see it natively
(for it’s hard work to change world-views and mine
is more demanding than I’d like it be).

This addict here just wants to get his will,
to be the god who doesn't suffer fools,
'coz then all life would simplify until
“that I don't suffer” ’s Number One of Rules!

How diff’rent to the God who suffers here,
who’s heart was filled with pain as he looked close,
came down and got involved by camping near.
Make me like you my God, (& less verbose).

* In the Bible when it uses the Greek word pronounced something like "Gehenna", it is mostly translated into English as "hell", or "Hell". In
a bounded set,
like romantic love: using desire, longing, romance, and intercourse, but given the pressure of a heart-beating and the filling of life-blood, and then even pokiness, hardness and form by an internal structure of containment & sheath of commitment, allows it to play a private part in a pleasant passtime of an interlocking jigsaw, crossed with a seesaw, interlocuting, traversing, moving within an external sheath as part of an exquisite and private (both energizing and rest-inducing) game; where the one who has the most drive has the least power (they have to learn to woo, and learn about delayed gratification). And the one who has the least drive, has the most power (they can turn things on, make things grow, almost at the flick of a switch, like manipulating a handle). Pleasure per se. and this game for two are both God's gift to us, to strengthen and deepen and reward a relationship that is based on a promise [to (learn to) LOVE].
The question still at the centre remains.. will we USE this cover of "love" , to maintain, protect, and enhance (and advance) our own self? Or will we let God's wonderful game and mechanism transform us, as we see enacted in the game itself (transforming a slug into a sword, the untouchable distant hills of desire coming near out of pure giftingness and delightedness to be desired - and allowing themselves to be gotten), combined with a growing consideration for the other's limitations. Learning to work with a partner, majoring (in one's own thinking and then communication) on what can be done, not on what can't. Learning to own each other's personal preferences more tenderly, and to cling less tenaciosly to one's own. In short, since God is love, and thus is a community as well as an integrated singularity, this task, this game, seems to me to be a significant avenue or way, method, or means, by which he seeks to grow us to be like our maker, but much more than Maker, he is our Father (& Mother).

'spair thoughts

There are, at times, in life, as we live it,
some moments of despair that come about.
It's like they are temptations to give in,
acknowledge it as Boss Hog (though a lout).

They don't feel good, but claim to be true-est,
so that I should join up, & march in step,
& even share despair with folk who rest
in happiness or joy, who haven't wept.

I think it's insight comes from how life IS,
when I live independent of the One
who made us for extending what are his
(or her) true purposes, of love begun

(for all our genders do not even shine
a light to (t)his agenda for us to
reflect the kind of love that does not whine
about what all the other people do,

but looks to love, & serve, & bring about
more good of friendship in each coming day,
& looks for help from God to bless, not pout,
& breathes deep God's own breath. Their life's okay!

For humans do not live on food alone,
we thrive on friendship, where we learn to love
espec'ly friendship with the God who'll groan
& pray for us, and come down from above

to walk with us in coolness of eve'ning
(but also in the noonday sun as well).
For life that comes from mouth of God does bring
his word, his breath, his kiss; saves us from "hell"*.

struggling to...

Txt2PW: Hey ... I'd love your prayer. I'm just struggling a bit at the moment.

Dear Father of your children here on Earth
we know you understand our struggles here
more than we even know each other's worth,
because your love & word made life appear.

And more than life that's biological,
you've even shared your own (eternal) life
and not as scientist, just logical,
your loving mercy trumps judgement, in strife.

So help this girl & her Mother, & Dad,
to learn to curl in your hand and to rest,
no matter what's a happ'nin' - good or bad,
to let you teach and grow us through each "test".

For what we know as tests, can be "showings"
of life and love that's yours, in your children,
to unbelieving worlds they are glowings
to light a darkened place as Moon does when

it shines within a night sky more than stars
(which are big suns but light-years far away).
So may we like small Moon, shine more than Mars
reflecting our sun's light with every ray.

And even when it's light does not much show,
it's mostly 'cause it just can't still be seen,
from our angle, but half of it's a-glow.
It's trouble comes when Earth is in-between

the Sun and it, & then it is eclipsed.
The things of Earth can block the sun's strong light.
May Christ be focused gaze, & not just glimpsed,
so that he is reflected in this night.
