Hope you are rejoicing
in the Father's goodness,
maybe too with grieving
at this whole adulterous,
sinful generation
we're within (about us),
almost this whole nation.
Lord, your spirit rout us
(not as: "make defeated")
but as "help to get out"
to the folk you greeted
when you came and set out
to take your great god's news
that he still reigned over
all Earth, though first the Jews
could welcome Jehovah
when he came wearing shoes.
Bet the shoes were off when
nails went through those feet whose
owner gave his blood, then
that cross was holy and,
the ground where he had walked
they call the Holy Land.
If those folk hadn't talked
maybe you'd have made stones
to cry out that good news
that your beloved one's
the One you're glad to choose!
