Remember whose you are!

Remember whose you are(!) Hannah-Charis,
& I don't mean your fam'ly in this world,
I mean the one who paid the love price this
world's evil ruler couldn't believe hurled

t'wards recompense, to pay the price of sin
to free us, you and me, from the fine mess
which we made and have caught our world within,
a price which only love would think to rest

upon a little bag of skin and bones,
& sinues, muscles, heart, soul, mind, and all.
Thus his own payment does the work, atones,
and leads to life each big one, and each small.

Especially small ones, if we hear his word,
for they're more likely just to trust and be
so glad of strange things that they've never heard
or thought of, till the day when they can see.

And they're as happy even if they're blind.
It's not the seeing outside eye they need,
they're happy cause they trust the love which minds
and brings good things; appreciates; & weeds.

And oh the joy of being owned by that,
the source of love, possessed by fullest joy,
the thriving in the times when we feel "flat",
the peace that comes to ev'ry girl and boy

within the family of the real possessor,
who gives his children chances to enrich
the world about them, he's their confessor,
so saying that he knows them. That's his pitch.
