Casting off...
Well, God I'm thinking of what we just read.
"Give all your worries and cares to the Lord,
for he (who made the Cosmos, from his head)
... he cares about you, as you'd care for your
own children & would want to help them out
& not to squash and hurt them "for the heck".
So with our futures (selves', & kids', no doubt),
there's such a lot we aren't able to check.
So please give us your wisdom (& your grace)
to learn to handle all of this with you,
& not get grumpy or snarl in your face
if we then have some pain to handle too.
So thank you for computers we have got.
And thanks for all your help & what you do
in this society, that's stressed a lot
please help us to choose well and rest in you.
So thanks for all these "goods" which played a part.
And as for all the "shoulds" we feel in life,
devoid of your wise hand and loving heart
we're at a loss to understand, in strife,
because we'd think that anything lovely
may well be worth more than we'd justify.
But your extravagant gift of an Eve
(to Adam), Avocados and the like,
speak of the thoughtfulness of your own love.
But when we "take for granted" what you gave
(reflecting ON not what's come from above),
that would be worth while leaving in the grave.
So thanks for helping, and providing that -
a grave, at our own bap-ti-zum to leave
our dead and rotting self-willed ways there at
the feet of one who wore love on his sleeve.
I scarcely can believe that he would care,
in that I'm like those teachers of the law
(who boasted of their knowledge, so beware),
oh boy, I'm glad that that's what he came for!
To help me to hold on, & learn from you
what is it I should do to live with joy,
or maybe it is just responding to
your love with simple trust - as did your boy!

Genuine Peace (Godliness with Contentment)
Then Jesus said "I'm leaving you "gifted",
my peace of mind and heart, I give to you.
My peace, I know, can't be counterfeited
by this world-system (built on "get" - 'sthat true?).
And it can't give the kind of life, and love,
abundance, & the thriving, that is "peace",
not in the middle of a life that's cov-
-ered in an occupation - forced "release".
So do not let your hearts become troubled,
and do not let your fear of loss a-fray
the life-line of your trust in me, coupled
with love - responding to me every day.
Recall the Psalms, and model prayers their way:
"We thank you Lord, that you're so merciful
(of course we have to pick the ones to say)
you answered prayers (concerned that our purse is full,
so riches won't be gone that coming day).
So also, Father, you help us grow up!
- to be like you, the one & only, true
true God is love - volcano that's erupt-
ing, & what's not destroyed, will be our due.

When what you see and feel varies from what you know..
So thank you God that as I set myself
to do things "good", to live with faith and love,
to let your hope pervade my life and health,
you let me see and feel the battle's shove.
Instead of thus negating previous choice,
this seems to me my chance to share with Christ,
within this world, to hear a different voice,
that often swims against what's "feeling nice".
I guess there is both Truth, & Appearance.
Two things that sometimes look to be the same,
but Aren't, so there's sometimes interference
unless I make distinctions (give a name).
And yet each thing should not just cease to be
(for now at least, while "we" are us on Earth)
we have such wierd irregularity
that has been with us all the way since birth
between Appearance, and this other world
of Knowing (even when our knowing's right).
Perspective & too Parallax hold curled
a hundred of these strangenesses of sight,
that are (untill we know a deeper truth)
at var-iance with those other things we've known.
The trick is to acknowledge both, be cooth,
and let their very differences be shown,
and welcomed as a spice of life here with
a welcome that we give to all our friends,
for we are learning patient-ness with kith
& kin, & God, till we see where this ends*.

Check OUT - how wonderful, how pleasant too,
it is when family together live -
not just nearby, though that brings things to do,
& projects that they each together give
and offer to the common-unity
(a purpose and a cause worth dying for,
that's bigger than both your and my - whitty/
small self-willed hopes we drop upon the floor).
A FAMILY is something bigger than
the father & the mother, & the kid(s).
It brings with it some parts to play and when
we play our part, we know some parts are hid.
And that's no "problem"! Bless-ed we are then!
We're trusting that the model of it all,
knew how to set it up for us right when
the human race was made, and set to crawl.
There may have been some trials & some falls,
we may have had some problems even then.
But given that we would not answer calls,
obey, - when that was not a hard option;
how could we learn the secret motive force
of fam'ly living (in all of it's ways)?
The glory of the family, of course,
is in the kind of love that it displays.
This unity behind the Ways and Means,
behind the Plans, Devices that are set,
is shown off by the way we hold our dreams.
God, your dreams we would like to dream more yet.
