On those who claim to be his (, that's Jesuses) followers, being so much less than him, and so a-parent-ly dim, unaware of other's lives, and language like they won't try.. YET God's "putting up with" us so graciously without fuss. Oh God save us from our sin. Put your Holy Spirit in. As you did with your bright Son, knowing he has just begun!
Hmmm. God seems to be willing to
use anyone who will be true.
Our problems seem to come when we
dictate to others how to be.
O God, I know it's there in me,
that horrible propensity
to act like I know more than I
really do of the other's lives
about me. Please God, help me stop
and hear from you and let them drop
what things they would around about,
and pick up what's been given out
in the style of that one, Jesus,
who acts in a way that frees us,
and from a knowledge more than ours,
observing, listening, for years/hours
to your truth in the world, and word,
in such a way he really heard
and could say "Truly, Verily"
the "Amen of God" - that is he
who listened with his eyes and ears.
O, God, till he again appears
in radiant glory, above all,
please let him loose within this small
and petty one, so aptly named
by you in ways that won't be shamed
and help us serve those round about
in ways that make your smile break out.
