Peter thinks about his Rabbi/Father (Second Adam) [1]...

I am Simon Petros^[2],

or just Petros^[3].

I was born Simon bar Jonas (i.e. Simon son of Jonas),

but renamed^[4] by our new “Rabbi”,

as I thought him to be at the time;

Petros - (i.e. bed-rock-e-fellow).

“Shimon” the Hebrew name that my old dad gave me

means either "He [who] has heard/hears [the word of God]"^[5] or

“He [God] has heard”

though in the common Greek of the Empire,

“Simon” simply means “flat-nosed"^[6]

I s’pose that means a bit of a thug.

That Hebrew name is not bad to aspire to;

but oh, to be  a “bed-rock-e-fellow”!

I hope that will be true.

As we work out who Yeshua really is,

things are even more hopeful.

God, hear me, -

may his naming true be!  

Oh, I heard you

tell us he was^[7] true,

& tell me who I should have heard^[8],

& so I do believe his word.

I will be bold to use his name for me,

faithful to his prophecy^[9],

and know who he is certainly^[10].

Given what you've given me,

what more

could I ever possibly
ask for?

Somewhere to stay for a night, or 2 (or 3..)?

Mary and Paul accepted
two stranger folk than they knew
and for their sake they elected
to stay up and talk to them too!

Then, their warm beds and showers
they gave to these bearded blokes,
and they used all their powers
so their welcome was warm as toast.

Thank you God for your welcome;
undeserved, just from your love!
- as parents take in children,
you are "our Father" above!

Do you 'stay up' and converse;
listening, sharing ideas,
give us warm beds and showers,
the key, 'n alay any fears.

leading us into the very
house of our father, in yours.

Hannah's working late.

God I join with Hannah's prayer,
that she might be quite wise,
please help her learn what to spare,
and when to shut her eyes;
how to show your loving care
& keep her too from lies.

To some old friends, who've had tough times

Sad to hear of your very tough times.
Glad to hear of your healing and climbs
upward, though with some seeming false starts.
God please grant Mike & Cathy fresh hearts.

Well God, we think of Mike Meyer

and those who’ve worked with him before

representing your life –higher-

to folk longing for something more

working to maintain your gifted

bios life, to live on this earth;

that gratitude, be what’s lifted

to he who gave us all our birth,

and thence to second wakenings

may folk be brought by your good  breath

as some folk have some “shakenings”,

and some meet you in what’s called “death”.

May these first shadows of real things

somehow be portals, with your wind,

to lead them to the life that sings,

and keep them from the Rubbish Bin.

Infection had broken out in a sister's eye and her cornea was leaking fluid.

Jesus' priests: we must now pray,
and learn from him what to say.

We pray for this sister's eye.
Thanks God, for her sight so far.
Please: kiss infection "Goodbye!",
heal the damaged cornea.

But as sons of this earth's Lord,
teach us Christ, to speak your word.
