as he's blessed
us all in Jesus
with all riches
from the heavens,
(from where all
the goodness leavens
our experience
on this earth,
-like the baby
is before birth
shielded from
harsh realities
though mother's
body has dis-ease!)
Christ our
full-on godly mother
(growth's in
Christ's body - no other),
Christ our
full-on godly father
we're his
children - none we'd rather!
Christ our
full-on godly child
Oh, that he'd
grow in us wild!
That his nature
bring on unrest
where our lives
don't fit with this test.
Then still,
there's sister, brother, twin,
our Uncle,
Aunt, or cousin; him.
Or else our
Master, we his slaves;
yet love
affects, so he behaves
in ways that
seem so strange & turned;
he says (as
Bartimaeus learned):
What do you
want me to do for you?
Our love
responds, to this love true!
And yet we see
him oft' retire
to clarify
Father's desire,
to take note of
his Father's style,
and copy all
with frown or smile.
And Christ is
more than just a friend
Amen, Amen, do
it again!
