Images of partnership - A

This psalm addresses all who choose to dwell,

within the realm, no morein such a way”,

or manner in the middle of a hell

where others don’t acknowledge truth or say

their statements from the view of God who’s love

and has the real capacity to see

and recognise, perceive, from up above

the patterns of relationship that be.

This God had children, not just friendly pets,

but even so, they didn’t know all things

their Father knew, his job to raise them, yet

required they stay, & look & learn - to sing

some songs to help them understand their world

and how to move about in it with ease,

and how to rule, with his flag here unfurled,

- the higher order things that God's eye sees.

To live that way, to shelter in his care,

is like a little baby that stays home,

until it's parents take it places where

it could learn from responses they have shown.

And quick enough they will be raised, until

their parents keep as friends, but help them out

to move, extend their human views that will

raise up the earth and be more than a lout.

It’s sung for those who live within the house

-hold of the Most High God. Abode, address

is there within the shadow of their spouse,

and even in a tent they won’t grow less.

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, 2 will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” 3For he will deliver you from the snare of the hunter and from the deadly pestilence; 4he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and defense. 5You will not fear the terror of the night or the arrow that flies by day 6or the pestilence that stalks in darkness or the destruction that wastes at noonday. 7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8You will only look with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place, 10  no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone. 13You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot. 14Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name. 15When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them. 16With long life I will satisfy them and show them my salvation. (‭Psalms 91:1-16 NRSVUE‬)
