Peter thinks about his Rabbi/Father (Second Adam) [1]...

I am Simon Petros^[2],

or just Petros^[3].

I was born Simon bar Jonas (i.e. Simon son of Jonas),

but renamed^[4] by our new “Rabbi”,

as I thought him to be at the time;

Petros - (i.e. bed-rock-e-fellow).

“Shimon” the Hebrew name that my old dad gave me

means either "He [who] has heard/hears [the word of God]"^[5] or

“He [God] has heard”

though in the common Greek of the Empire,

“Simon” simply means “flat-nosed"^[6]

I s’pose that means a bit of a thug.

That Hebrew name is not bad to aspire to;

but oh, to be  a “bed-rock-e-fellow”!

I hope that will be true.

As we work out who Yeshua really is,

things are even more hopeful.

God, hear me, -

may his naming true be!  

Oh, I heard you

tell us he was^[7] true,

& tell me who I should have heard^[8],

& so I do believe his word.

I will be bold to use his name for me,

faithful to his prophecy^[9],

and know who he is certainly^[10].

Given what you've given me,

what more

could I ever possibly
ask for?

Somewhere to stay for a night, or 2 (or 3..)?

Mary and Paul accepted
two stranger folk than they knew
and for their sake they elected
to stay up and talk to them too!

Then, their warm beds and showers
they gave to these bearded blokes,
and they used all their powers
so their welcome was warm as toast.

Thank you God for your welcome;
undeserved, just from your love!
- as parents take in children,

God I join with Hannah's prayer,
that she might be quite wise,
please help her learn what to spare,
and when to shut her eyes;

-ence from He who would

lead us to an end

which is strong & good,

19.   and new beginning

My sister’s one year more and
thinking - she is still “doing”,
growing bolder, ... flowing sand
through hour-glass.. ensuing


years will show their full reaping
(from the seed that has been sown)
of a new crop, that’s heaping
even more; no seed’s alone

in death - if God sent it - He
brings his deeper-life up more.
First, the loss of “seed-I.D.”,
then, a crop of grain in store.

As a daughter of the Lord
Jesus who has been Christened

Lord - of the new creation:

to completely lose yourself
don’t give up now & “turn in”.
This marathon’s not for wealth!


Not for wealth of this old life.
It's his currency we spend
in the sight of Christ, whose wife
we will all be in the end!
Trust his health not to stifle
love growing in us; to send..

 .. to send his light of hesed  
(loving-kindness, loyal love)
through us to a world that’s dead,
flowing to them “from above”,

.. and to send it deeper in
to these selves, that we might be
conduits of this new begin-
-ing (daily from old-self freed).
