"Thank you Lord for the sleep we had,
and for this soft bed.
Thanks for making us a mum and dad,
and that you're ours", they said.

Look down and see connections, that you'll trace

like paintings at a party that aren't hurled,

but care-full-y put on, upon the face

of children who have come with bigger folk

as though you're there yourself, they'd also trace

an image with their painting, or a joke!

I feel like a face painter, drawing on

the Universe's face - as a small child

who's come with her own "Daddy", when she's gone

the party he's preparing will be wild!
