Poem 4 John Hick

[I've been reading this bloke who is a scholar, but appears to have reacted to the evangelical/ modernist/ fundamentalist way of putting everything (as does a part of me). A bit scary,  a bit lonely, good to wrestle through... (still not finished looking at his argument closely & weighing carefully, .... To the tune of "This ol' man, he played one.."]

This "old mate",
he saw straight
through the spate
of words of late,
and got sick
of the quick,
lazy-ee and slick
way we talk,
and don't baulk
or pop th' cork
(in OUR spout,
t'slow words out;
or from wine
to drink'n dine,
celebrate
the fine great
anti-hate -
Yeshua,
who to a
world's sewer,
came to live
'n forgive,
'n to seive...
the ways we live
doodle oo
do, do, do,
doodle oo
do,do,
do, do, do, do,
do, do, do..)
But I won-
der if he's
like that son
'v Zacharie's
who sent the
dis-ci-ples
to-oo ask Je-
sus if he
was the one
who was to come.

Jesus re-
plied to John
Bless'd is he-
-ee who
holds on
see-ing the
works o-of God
though they
may seem
a bit odd...

..not quite what
they expect-
ed they got-
the Res-
-ur-rect-
-tion 'n what-not
doodle oo do do
do, do,
do, do,
do, do, do..

Re:Pete's Post[1]

Well, you've "spoken"!
Beautiful 2
Though we're broken
I am with U.

HE IS as WELL.
Well-ness surrounds
him. Though in hell,
His wine abounds.

He is the bell
which is ringing
inside itself;
thence its singing

causes 2 bless
(not judged by num-
-bers, or num-bness)
who-ever comes!

The shell of a life..

A walk on the beach
this afternoon,
a lesson to teach
me, but a goon,

and I'm not sure what
it wants to say,
but it somehow got
to me today..

somehow this object
-shell of a life-
made me think more of
the live thing inside,

& that scaffolding
which helps the life live
moulded & moulding,
& too as a seive,

is often what lasts-
the memory of life;
but not as repasts
have with my wife..

Strange that New Adam
chose food & drink.
Different to Saddam
Hussein*, don't you think?

* at the time of writing, Saddam Hussein was believed to be acting as a despotic dictator over Iraq.

A sister: Hiking in kanangra boyd!

God, you gave us the best
when you gave your son
we're utter-lur-ly blessed
to have such an one

to be our Great High-King
over all others.
In our walking/biking
with sis's & brothers,

he is to our liking! -
Even when he's not,
he sure leads our hiking
through life, so we've got

way the best in leaders
who leads us himself
(no wounded-heart bleeders,
or untouched as elf)

but in the thick of it
in  awe, & in grime,
Warning? He'll speak of it!
Last to leave a mine.

So, I think God is right
to take us this track
with such a Man of Might
at our front (& back),

and better still in-side
us, the best of all,
following the High King!
Thus says this King Paul!

A blessing for the Root family trip

And peace to you
all - be rooted
and grounded in

his ruling too,
his life hooted
as kith and kin

spoke (in love) true,
lost what "suited",
so we could win!

“..son of Adarm[1], son of God.”(Luk3nd) PartB

Then there's talk of  “son of  Adarm”.
I grant you number one is Cain,
but the story is quite odd here
and there's anothen# branch or arm
where Adarm's son has “Seth” for name.
Maybe we choose OUR branch? Quite queer!

Stamped“in the likeness, and image”,

first case is the Adarm, ..of God;
second case  is Seth, ..of Adarm;
meanings  get piled like a scrimmage,
but this text, without being odd,
describes a son”, as in a psalm.

“Son”  still’s to be inter-prett-ed;
it can mean descendent/ younger
or  a copy, or second  one.
If  I, as a father, fretted,
missed my “call” (though for it hunger);
might it yet be caught by my son?

And thus could “son” be far more  still
than younger / less experienc’d
- as my grown sons have shown in part-
& no doubt as time flies, more will.
(His use, too, of “child” is nuanced,
to lead us by and to our heart.)

This “second edition” meaning
of the word “son” might well be what
Jesus was getting at when he
claimed “the son of ..”; was he leaning
heavily on  this “second shot”
use, with “Adarm”, or “David”? - See?

He doesn’t disdain to be known
as “the son of..” a wayward one,
and takes the title  as his own.
(Both “Father” & “King” he’ll be shown
to be,  as the archetypal son.)
Though still “not good Adarm’s alone”. ...

And so a bride, right from his side
(maybe the in-side helixing),
is being made to be displayed.
But I confide God has a “hide”
(we can’t see him/ he has thick skin)
his plan’s for “Na-ked, unafraid”...

# anothen (1st C. Common Greek) has two alternate meanings (which the reader works out by the context) "another/again", OR, "from above".

There's two to teach folk from the beach, the picture/ story in all it's glory!

Lord Jesus, you have teached us
that gives great confidence,
and your love too has reached us,
We want OUR-selves gone! Riddance!

And your selves (that are these bods),
they would join with you and
act as sub-or-din-ate gods-
take charge of stuff, hold your hand,

and watch what your children are
doing, choosing in your world,
learn to pray, and be not far
from you, as your flag's unfurled.

You make sense of God's picture
in fact you are the best one,
being far from a stricture,
you open up a blest one!

We love You, and your story,
and want to become good at
reflecting "on" your glory
to who stands on our doormat.

Amen.

Dee & friends, are our hands. ... What one expends helps all to stand.

Thanks God for Dee, your daughter there
please help them see, in your true care
and in your kindness that daily
showers on them through friends/family.
In building the houses real good,
register-ing the homes they should,
running these kids' camps coming up
may your wisdom & skill erupt!
Your perseverance, joyful, long,
for us & them in prayer & song!
Amen.

"..SonOfAdarm'SonOfGod:" (Luk3nd) PartA

When the term “the son of God”
was used within the bible
that Jesus read as a child,
it would have made his head nod,
he was most likely liable
to think of “Adarm#”. He smiled,

I s'pose, when he thought more of
Adarm's “Father” who had made
all things good in Earth and Hea'en
-such that goodness is a “spore of”
his Great Goodness; ours is “shade”.
Adarm was his baby-boy bairn (!) -

naked and also innocent;
in the image and likeness of
the one who's only clothed in light,
creator of the world(s) that “went”.
Son was the very “brightness” of,
but “innocent” is not quite right

for what his Father always was;
more “good”, or “wise”, or “perfect love”,
who when he comes drives out all fear.
The son was meant to grow, because
authority (sourced from above)
grew as he copied “Father-Dear”,

and listened to his every word.
Glory of the God was Adarm,
and glory of Adarm was Eve,
Love has bright glory, its absurd
power is “nuclear” [though without harm
to Real Life, though it might not leave

first-stages to keep on going,
they were meant to end, and fall out.
Like our baby-teeth that first come
still with pain, along with growing,
yet the permanent still “call out”
(whether we think it's good or dumb)!]

*Adarm (Hebrew: Common Noun plural/ Common Noun singular/ Proper Noun)= humanity/ the man/ Adam (as context demands & the poetry of life & love calls)
